I opened a RippleTrade account and deposited some XRP about 2 or 3 weeks ago.  Now it looks like they're requiring me to enter all kinds of personally identifiable information.  Can I transfer my XRP out of my RippleTrade account without providing that information?

I've got the same question. Just have a couple of Ripple. No big value. I read the email notification from Ripple Labs today. I guess, we will not get them out of the wallet without identification.

I think you can withdraw them until sometime in August. After that you have to supply ID, but before that I think you can get them out. If someone successfully makes a withdrawal before August please let us know because I'm not certain I got my facts straight.

Ripple is a centralized currency claiming it is partly decentralized. There is no other wallet you can use to manage your Ripples.

Wow - good I don't have any in that case.

Someone has created a minimalist wallet, though I don't know if it's completely third party. It looks like it is. This is the thread about it.

https://xrptalk.org/topic/6792-minimalist-ripple-client/

The administrator of xrptalk.org has set up an online version of the minimalist wallet at this link.

https://xrptalk.org/client/

It looks ugly, but if it works and doesn't require ID who cares. The xrptalk.org forum isn't funded by Ripple Labs, I remember the administrator almost closed it because they wouldn't pay him, but he eventually started using adverts to fund it.

Uh no...
It's some adults that issued "equity" in 2013, employ 100 people and are selling a product to banks.

Today, Ripple would just do an IPO and list OTC (what used to be the Pink Sheets).

Exactly like 100s of other junior tech companies listed on Venture Exchanges around the world...
The sole purpose of all tech ventures is to shovel $$$ to the principals and their backers...
Whether the company makes money, loses money, whatever.

It's only a matter of time before a major bank buys Ripple Labs for $200 million or make-up-a-big-number...
That has always been the end game for Ripple.

That makes sense. Getting a wallet from ripple.com is almost impossible.. The website is so geared towards seeming convincing to investors.. but has almost no real user functionality.

Everyone has access to their xrp... just new users who are creating RippleTrade wallets will have to go under KYC!/AML requirements.

This is to ensure fincen compliance when xrp price reaches $1 dollar parity, its currently valued at $0.01.

I'll be amazed if it ever reaches a dollar, what with the X billion of 'coins/Ripples' they've created. They seem to be saying that the ripples are just a functionality token that isn't particularly supposed to get too much value apart from its utility. So far, they are right. Hope it does go up for a while though.

If no one can get a Ripple wallet you can always open a Bittrex account and just stick them in there for the time being until you do get a wallet.

Stellar vs Ripple?
