Nice work on MultiBit HD Jim and Gary.

With MultiBit Classic I could create a new blank text file called "multibit.properties" in the program directory and MultiBit Classic would run on the thumb drive (the wallet was stored also on the thumb drive).

Can MultiBit HD work on a thumb drive (and store the wallet files on the thumb drive rather than "C:/Users/User/AppData/Roaming/MultiBitHD")?

Thanks for your time.

Hi Coiner1,

We don't support running MultiBit HD off a thumb drive.
We've a write up of why this funtionality caused problems in Classic (and hence why we dropped it) in the help item:

https://multibit.org/en/help/hd0.1/backups.html

It's the section:
What about storing wallets directly on USB keys ?

tl;dr USB thumb drives cause too many problems with people losing their wallets and backups.
