s4 stock fan without controller

hi guys,

i have spare stoock s4 fan, it works when is connected on the s4. I want to use for other things but i cant get it to start only with PSU 12v, i tried connecting the red and black wire to adapter 12v5A but it wont start. I want to run it at full speed

Can i use this fan without pwm controller?

 4 correct?

sounds like you have cut the end off.

if i remember  the color codes do not match .  does it have  a yellow wire?

if it has a yellow wire try:


 the yellow as [pos +]    and the black as [neg -]

Yes there are 4 wires, (black red white blue) i tried every combination and didnt worked. i also reversed the polarity. I think that this fan does not work without PWM controller. i ordered from ebay 10A PWM controller, so in one month i will see . china is so far away. Thanks anyways
