Hi Guys,

I'm newbie here so I'll get right down to the question.

I just bought an Antminer S5 and waiting for it to arrive. I have no idea how mining works so I thought I'd ask the experts.

I just want a simple answer though I know many factors are involved,

configuring my Antminer s5 with the typical settings and running it 24/7

How many Bitcoins can I generate per day as a rough estimate for June 2015?

is it anywhere from 0.02 - 0.03?

I have no idea so if any one has any idea I kindly ask for your advice.

Thanks in advance guys,

Dee

BTW, this belongs in the mining subforum.

To answer your question, there are many different mining calculators that will give you graphs and such of your estimated earnings. Just google bitcoin mining calculators and you will find several. Look at them, input your information for your miners, and it will give you an estimate of how much Bitcoin you will earn.

June is already over.

With an Antminer S5 operating 24 hours per day at the current difficulty right now you can expect to generate approximately 0.01175776 BTC per day.

You'll need to subtract from that any fees that your chosen mining pool collects.  You'll also want to consider how much you'll spend on electricity to run the S5 as well as show much you'll spend on cooling and maintenance.

If difficulty increases in the future, you can expect the amount of bitcoins that you generate per day to decrease.

I'll also add to Danny's excellent answer, you can expect the Difficulty to adjust roughly July 11th. It's expected to be an increase in difficulty, probably in the range or 2-4%.

Are you prepared for how loud an S5 is? It's roughly a 600W heater as well, so be prepared.

you can try to generate more bitcoin by mining other sha256 coins, it would be much better in my opinion, because you can turn on your asic on, only for the launch then shut it down, electricity cost will be negligeable, and profit would be greater or at least on par with mining bitcoin directly
