Did you say official? Seriously its commonly used for business because theres people outside the ph involves in it and they cant speak tagalog. For my 22 years of living in ph i cant remember that ive heard a word such "official" declared to english as pilipino language for business.

But you got a point for most businesses english knowledge is a must for higher carrier like a lawyer, a call center agent etc but not for a pilipino selling on street the balut and any other small businesses. They dont speak english

Amazing, there lots of things you foreigners don't know about the Philippines.

In 1987 after the Ferdinand Marcos era it was Amended to the Philippine Constitution.

Article XIV, Section 7 straight from the Philippine Gov site.

http://www.gov.ph/constitutions/the-1987-constitution-of-the-republic-of-the-philippines/the-1987-constitution-of-the-republic-of-the-philippines-article-xiv/

Additionally it was also coded into law the first time in 1935 during the second revision of the Philippine Constitution.

~BCX~

1987 Constitution is subject to change through influence from local and foreign languages over time.

Ferdinand marcos is a lawyer and a great Philippines president who delivered his speech without a kodigo in english

If you go watch a news for ph current president aquino and the government said that they are trying to change that, and everytime he delivering speech he speak in tagalog because most of pilipino dont understand everything written in english from provinces that even good in tagalog.

In Philippines if

And the 1935 Constitution directed the national assymbly to develop a national language for Philippines from one of the existing native languages although until that otherwise provieded by law espanish and and english remains the official languages of the Philippines.

December 1937 president Manuel L Quezon issued executive order 134 which proclaimed tagalog shall be the basis of Philippines national language.

1943 Constitution espanish and english removed as the national language of the Philippines.

The 1973 constitution is to develop the national languange of the Philippines named by the batasang pambansa as "Filipino" until otherwise the official languange is english and pilipino or the tagalog but its not stated english alone and infact its more on the tagalog.

1987 replaced the pilipino as filipino the official languange of the Philippines and just with a help of english but we dont speak english alone, for 10 words 2 of them are english and if its you live in manila or any other near provinces

But if not you speak like bisaya or waray then you cant speak filipino nor english fluently.

Waray speakers that can't speak Tagalog or English are usually illiterates from Samar.

The Bisaya that can't are usually from the provinces of Cebu.

Debate it all you like but refer to Article XIV Section 7 of the Philippine Constitution of 1987.

BTW, I grew up in Tai Po and we owned several domestic helpers from Samar LOL

I don't have a stake (nor a steak) in this, however I would support a sub-section for the Philippines.

From the looks of it the "Skandinavisk" sub-section has a total of 4,360 replies to a total of 720 threads, for a total of 5,080 posts (+- 40 threads). When compared to the Phillippines thread, which has 8,867 replies, the Skandinavisk section looks even smaller then it is.

I would have serious doubts about most people being able to find any kind of relevant information that was posted an unknown amount of time ago.

I am not familiar with any local customs of the Philippines, so I cannot say with any authority as to what languages may be spoken by locals in the Philippines. However even if English would be exclusively spoken in that section, a dedicated sub-section would be beneficial to the local bitcoin related economy because of things like local offers to buy/sell bitcoin face-to-face, and shipping things like miners locally (especially considering that international shipping is very often expensive and a hassle).

Uhhh, you owned domestic helpers? I sure hope that this is some kind of translation issue, and if so, then it would document that a Philippine section is probably needed.

Im pretty sure that filipino and any other countrys native languages will be used for the section. And although miners wont work in Philippines due to climate and high electric expenses trading would work since ph has a limited btc trading site and without a competitive prices. And any other information of bitcoin will be spread out the entire sub section written in tagalog which can easily understand by majority of pilipinos mostly for newbies.

Is too hard to maintain a different topics in a single thread alone, most of the time i skipped 3 or above pages that i missed because comments flows too fast.

DAMN! My parents are Waray. My respect to you are gone completely. Samar is my neighbor province and I have lots of friends there. If you owned some of domestic helpers then you are disrespecting them. Domestic helpers are working hard to support their family! They don't like to be seperated but still have to sacrifice! You don't owned them!! This is out of the discussion. All we want is to have to our own section.

Are you really serious about your stupid stand against our request? You posted in our thread saying what are the reasons why we want to have an own section then you might support us? Damn you really don't know? After all the exchanged words with my fellow kababayan here and in our thread still you don't know? You propably not reading what my other kabayan posted here. Please have a time to do a backread.

Apology for my emotional post.

If you think people from Samar predominately speak Bisaya then you have never been there.

Waray is the predominant dialect of the area.

Also the fact you keep saying "Visayan" means you're a foreigner or an illiterate.

And yes you get the Gold Star, Tai Po is in Hong Kong!

This is what this discussion should be about...

All other things (which topics and in what language) are manageable in a Philippines sub-section.

But the numbers speak for themselves; Philippines should have their own sub-section.

No LOL just wrong usage of word. I meant to say "employed".

I'm afraid I'll have to agree - once more - with Bruno... eh... I mean Gleb...  Tongue

The official language of the Philippines is English. It has several pigin languages and many more dialects. They don't need their own section.

I would like to correct you here. I'm a Filipino, and Filipino is our official language, not English, though in some other encyclopedias and atlases, English is written as an official language of the Philippines, which is plainly wrong because in the 1935 Constitution of the Philippines, former president Manuel L. Quezon declared that Filipino is the official language of the Philippines, nothing more. English is widely-spoken here, but no, it isn't the official language of our country.
Filipino is the National language. All official government business is in English. It's like Canada with two official languages.

If theymos were Filipino, then such a section would have already been created, but since he's fond of Esperanto...  Tongue

Thanks for the support of the high ranks here. Hope someday admins will grant our long time request. Having a sub section will really help us to organize some various different topics that all mixed and spread out in a single thread and also a big help for those Pinoy Bitcoiners from provinces that using their native language.
