2015 haben wir angefangen, Workshops- und Vortrags-Events zu organisieren, nicht zuletzt da sich Gelegenheiten für Räumlichkeiten im Zuge des Blockchain-Hypes ergeben haben. Nach ein paar anfänglichen Eingeständnissen an "Blockchain"-Themen sind wir heute zu 99% auf Bitcoin-only fokussiert. Sprache ist meist manchmal englisch wegen der großen internationalen Meetup-Szene in München. Wir suchen immer Speakers, kontaktiert uns gerne diesbezüglich! In Seuchenzeiten sind wir online aktiv.

On Saturday(!), 31st of May, 7pm, we have an international, English-language special event about Traveling with Bitcoin. Special guest is Paco de la India.

> Hi, I’m Paco de la India. In 2021, inspired by books like The Bitcoin Standard, I set off on the “Run With Bitcoin” journey—a mission to travel the world using only Bitcoin, across 40+ countries in the Global South. In some places, I succeeded. In others, I failed.

This journey was entirely crowdfunded by the global Bitcoin community. Strangers, fellow Bitcoiners, donated sats and supported me every step of the way. Without their generosity and belief in the mission, none of it would’ve been possible.

Along the way, I met incredible people, hosted meetups, and saw firsthand how Bitcoin can create real world impact, especially in places where financial freedom is needed the most.

How do I get Bitcoin? We give away small amounts (satoshis) if you have a Lightning-enabled wallet ready. Furthermore, there might be people wearing red ribbons signaling that they would exchange Bitcoin for Euro, or green ribbons for the other way around. Or you just have to ask around.

Media policy: Many participants value their privacy, please ask individually before taking photos or recordings! If officially recorded, please take care to stay out of the line of fire yourself if necessary.

Microsoft will have a "DX Blockchain Day" with an internal part during the day, and a public part for our meetup group in the evening.
