I started a topic in "press" section, because I saw some interesting news last night.
When I woke up this morning there is more news saying that what I saw last night was faked.
So I figured I would go back to press section and remove the original post with the link to the bogus news.
It doesn't look like I can remove a topic I started. Should I simple Lu delete the post and title and hope it goes away?

no one can delete threads except the staffs. just change the title to delete, lock it, move it to archive (optional), and report it (to be sure). tho I don't think mods will just delete a thread that already have some replies without a second thought.

you can't, as already said, and I would not do. Just edit adding the info that the news is fake, some people might have write the fake version, but not the version that say the news is fake

Just edit the post content so that no further reply is made by users here, edit the tittle to [delete] and most sure shot is Report to moderators , Mods generally delete the post unless a lot of conversations were made .

As far as I remember, you can delete a topic you created as long as no one else has replied. Certain boards also don't allow the topic to be deleted, although I'm not sure if "press" does this. Again, that's as far as I can remember, I'm pretty sure I've deleted a few of my topics, but can't be sure as I haven't done it recently.
