pool mining on Mac OS X 10.6.8

Hi.  I have no idea what I'm doing and it seems everyone who writes instructions expects you to.  Can anyone kindly (in normal english) explain hth to install all this stuff so I can pool mine on my computer?

Try bitminter.com, their miner works great on my Mac.

I'll echo the BitMinter suggestion, but change the GPU settings to 128 workers for a 60% increase in mhash rate.

I managed to get DiabloMiner running fine, but received a lot of "Read timed out" errors.

I've since stopped mining because it's just not worth it

I never got any particular gain from messing up these settings on my iMacs 6970M

Bitminter does work extremely well, but only for that pool if I remember correctly.  Diablominer is pretty easy to setup and use.
