How can you prove the legitimacy of this statement? What proof do you have the the beats are authentic?
There are loads of Beats clones and some are almost identical to the real ones bar from the serial number not checking out (and sound quality not matching). Someone who can't tell a good pair of headphones from another and who'll buy beats as a fashion item will have no clue whether the headphones are real or fake. I don't see how you can prove that these headphones are real.

You are correct, they are at the point now where the average consumer will not be able to tell the difference between authentic ones and fake ones, but they are not at the point where they can fool electronics specialists or merchants who have been doing this for a long time.
The biggest difference between authentic and fake products are the quality and that will always be the case.
