Here we are talking about the richest of the richest people. I'm sure it is not impossible for the CEO of bitcoins to reach the list , but then the list includes people who have worked their ass off , day and night to build up an empire. Bitcoin needs to be established as an empire first. Then we might get to this point.

Just to even be included in the top 10 list, the bitcoin startup would have to beat the tenth richest person in the world, - Liliane Bettencourt. Her net worth is over $40.1 billion that she earned as the non-executive director and major shareholder of L'Oreal. Just to be on the same rank as her one would. need 148,584,575.1000 Bitcoins. The maximum number of bitcoins in the world is just 21,000,000 BTC. That would mean the startup would need to own all the bitcoin in the world, and then 127,584,575.1 more. At this current value, this is impossible.

All those miners sitting in their room, mining day and night hoping they will be millionaires someday lol. Yes, bitcoin must grow as a community first to be able to reach to a position where people are so rich, they are competing in the world's richest list Tongue Either I am a pessimist or a realist but I don't think so this will ever happen lol. You can't be the richest man in the world by buying all the god damn btc lol. You need money to buy that too

It would take some time and for Bitcoin to grow significantly to be technical if we include Satoshi he wouldn't be on the Fortune 500 yet but as we do not know his identity we can't say hes the richest person in the world.
My guess is that in 15-25 years if Bitcoin grows and gets successful startups.
As an aside it is funny that they listed Satoshi as Dorian lol...

It would have to be (likely) when Forbes considers assets in bitcoin as part of one's wealth. I bet they don't even consider how much bitcoin someone has in their wallet as part of the top ten richest list.

Some of the venture capital funding deals may identify a few potential targets too. Startup founders skyrocket to the list after a nice IPO!

well satoshi is the one with the most coin for now, but even considering him , he is not holding a fortune so big to be in a considerable spot in the top ten for example

270M dollars isn't a lot to be put on the list as one of the most rich in the world

the most rich guy in the world can buy the whole bitcoin market cap like nothing, satoshi's fortune looks like a crumb in comparison

Satoshi’s net worth now fills nine digits, bro.  With ten percent of the entire pie, Satoshi could act as a central bank if necessary, which of course would likely never happen or be really ironic if happened, considering how much he hates fiat currencies. Its easy for him to do that honestly, by injecting the ecosystem with liquidity when the time was right. Also, mysterious men are the coolest lets be real

no one know how much he is holding, but if you remove satoshi  then the others are holving much less, their fortune is more insignificant, i'm sure they can't stand even among the top 100..

actually the twin hold more wealth in their fiat than bitcoin, i can bet my ass on that

The world currently have 1741 Billionnaires -----> http://www.forbes.com/billionaires/list/#version:static

If Satoshi has a combined total of 1 000 000 Bitcoins sold at todays price {+/- $260 US}, he would not be added to this list.

For someone to qualify as a Bitcoin Billionaire {BB} he should have made this wealth through Bitcoin alone, and not through other ventures not linked to Bitcoin. {This will not happen soon}

Bitcoin entrepreneurs still have some huge steps to climb, before they can be included into this group.  Sad

For sure it will be one someday. As for me bitcoin has a future. And I hope a brilliant future. More that can be imagine from everyone of us which discuss about it. But for the time which can be possible no one can know. There to many unknown factors from which this depends. Make predictions without data and without analysis in not mine so I cannot answer to this question. I cannot do neither any analysis because is impossible. I can tell one factor which is important for the given question. The rules that every Central bank must create to legalize bitcoin. Without those cannot exist any startup and CEO of those. Most of the countries today ignore bitcoin. For what rules can (may) we speak? Or when (in which time) they will be live with bitcoin? Or that, that only in 30 countries of the world (in about 200 which are in all those) is legal. You can find yourself the answer.

Forbes list is a joke, it does not count the bankers and large land lords, each are magnitudes richer than the previous one

Why should the fortune only be made through bitcoin? If any of the current top 10 would start a CEO startup, they would be listed in there right?

May be a bit of cheating, but the list is not exclusive to how you have earned it. (Maybe some have already backed these kind of start ups?)

The list will one day be made of bitcoin early-adopters, not necessarily Bitcoin CEO's, and their identities will be represented by a string of alpha-numeric characters because Forbes (or anyone else) will never know who they are.

Any information provided in my posts is for educational purposes only and is not to be considered legal advice, but you already knew that.

They'll know exactly who they are thanks to the Blockchain. Remember that most people that buy bitcoin do it through a regulated service and inexorably have their identities tied to their addresses. Only the very very clever ones will be able to hide their identity from government. And even if they succeeded, their Bitcoins could be blacklisted and thus no miner would include it in their block. This government regulation does not yet exist but it's only a matter of time until they threaten big mining operations into compliance.

Surely it will happen, but there won't be a monopoly. within years there will be huge competition in bitcoin business. Even my friend is starting a peer to peer lending website this year. I came to know about bitcoin from him.

It will happen for sure. But I don't think it has to be a CEO of a Bitcoin startup.
It also could be just a Bitcoin holder. Remember we do have whales who own hundred thousand bitcoins and maybe more.
I think the winkle twins said they own 1% of the actual supply in 2013. So they will have round about 120.000 coins at least in their wallets.
