Uber are fools by saying they will not accept payments now, because they'll be proven wrong by history as they see themselves forced to accept payments in the future when BTC is a success. The sooner you start accepting payments, the less on an idiot you'll look in the future.

Uber either don't really want Bitcoin (in which case, they're not doing it right) or they are just protecting themselves and preventing further problems (this is what I think they're doing).

Uber is having enough issues with governments forbidding them to operate and taxi men blocking the streets, destroying Uber's cars and being generally aggressive to Uber drivers. What happened in France is just horrific...


Apple will not accept Bitcoin in the near future. Bitcoin would probably have to surpass Visa in volume for Apple to accept Bitcoin Which is funny, because questioning what is "normal" and accepted is deep within Apple's culture and that's a bit what we're doing with Bitcoin, standing up against governments who think they know better than us what to do with our money.

As for Amazon, not sure what to say. Everyone should accept Bitcoin

Forget about Apple & Uber, if we can ever convince Amazon to integrate BTC into their methods of payment then we seriously fuel up & get ready to go to the moon. Amazon is the largest online marketplace in the WORLD, it's the one organisation that would send us into 4 figures within like a week of them announcing it.
I think there was a petition for Amazon to accept BTC advertised on here some time ago, it had thousands of signatures. I just don't think Amazon are willing or ready to comply at the moment, one day they will though & they'll wish they had sooner.

I don't really think they said they wouldn't accept it in the future, just that they're not accepting it now or have plans to anytime soon, but this is probably the same for most businesses. This will probably change over time.

Aren't people already working on decentralized versions of Uber? Maybe they will accept bitcoin. I think they would go hand in hand.
