I like all those good news stacking up, too bad the timming is really bad tho, with the ongoing attack if we have tons of people coming the network would struggle even more to keep processing transactions. We need a fix quick.

Seriously? When was bitcoin tied to with third-party exchanges? Or when did bitcoin's software system been compromised by hacks? Misleading sentence. Exchanges were "hacked" and suffered technical problems and not bitcoin.

The bitcoin crook was really funny.  I don't like how btc is called an evil, but when it gets on to major media outlets some people will not know what it is.  So more people finding out about it is generally good.

Well bad press is still press and exposure. At least some information about btc is being disseminated to the general public, but you're right, calling btc a lesser evil between the two is not that good, especially the wrong info about Bitcoin's software systems being vulnerable because of an exchange getting hacked.

No worries. The media have been showing voters describing political parties as, "the lesser of two evils", during election campaigns for years. People have become accustomed to choosing the lesser of two evils.

i think in a way it's fair enough to say it like that.

The dollar, or the Drachmer can be said to be under threat... or the Argentinean pesos to have collapsed... without the Argentinean coins themselves to have actually been bent or anything.

Sure, the bitcoin 'coin' the blockchain is fine (as fine as most actual Argentinean coins probably were)... but if the system and processes around it don't work or collapse.. then that is just as bad.

You know that's how outsiders view bitcoin. Exchanges are so very much bound to bitcoin that it's practically the same for them. Sure, you can educate them but for them "it's a bitcoin problem". And they somehow are right. Bitcoin is dangerous because the handling is dangerous, or lets say the environment it works in.

You only can try to educate them.

I can understand the lesser than two evils...the first evil is Greece going on as is (spending more than they earn), the second evil is resorting to a deregulated, untested, completely new and wildly volatile currency.

If I was Greek today, I withdraw all my money from the bank and how one can not keep at home would probably turn everything into bitcoins because despite being a volatile currency and euro and dollar and other , and the difference besides the high value volatility , can not you buy some goods only with bitcoins ... which is achieved with the fiat the leading cause of discomfort , but at least know that my money is appreciated or depreciated and know where and how to convert according to needs , banking system in greece as well as in all countries showed their vulnerability , a deep crisis and banks hold their money , bitcoins on the other hand can be redeemed at any time and converted on any day.

Yeah, I believe that applies to the entire world.
However I would classify them as the Banks as the greater evil first and then the government since it's the money that decides who get's to be government and how they govern.

I really hope the BBC gets privatised at some point and they go bankrupt, I really do, I don't have as much of a problem with the guardian newspaper and other news channels because they all fund themselves but these fuckers steal from people using the T.V License.

There's a whole generation or more of people who rarely or never watch TV. If some flat tax is shoved on them for the honour of watching youtube on their phone, that's going to make it look even more like the dinosaur it is.
