For most of the average bitcoin users, i believe that wallets like Electrum are the best option available.

Main reasons are :

- It's lightweight and extremely simple to use
- It's local, and you are in possession of your private keys
- It doesn't require entire blockchain to be downloaded

For most of the people that don't care about running a full version like Core, it should provide everything that an average user needs, but that's just my opinion in the end..

Personally my favorite is armory. The security is fantastic and it's jam-packed full of amazing features. I highly recommend it.

I prefer electrum for storage and ninki as hot wallet. blockchain.info only for very low amounts.

I am using more Bitcoin wallets. i like to using Multibit and now Multibit HD. For mobile application I select Mycelium. I have online accounts and wallets defined in Xapo and Coinbase too, but for small amounts only.

Electrum for SPV wallets because of its easy to use wallet and interface that sure is newbie-friendly. When it comes to online wallet, I prefer using Xapo than that of blockchain.info, mainly because of its many bugs and whatnot.

When storing large amounts of bitcoin, I use a paper wallet. I generate it via bitaddress.org and generate the keys offline to ensure that the security of my paper wallet isn't compromised. Wink
