I know about Xapo, but I also heard that they had some early issues and I want to make sure I'm not going to misfire here. What's a good Bitcoin debit card to use?

im not affiliated with bit-x besides being in their signature campaign, but ive actually heard some great things about their debit card from a few friends of mine, they use it to withdraw fiat money from ATMs using the bitcoin balance on their bit-x accounts. I havent tried it myself but id say its worth looking into.

theres nothing here. message me if you want to put something here.

There are card by Xapo, Bit-x and few other site, But the Problem is that, their Fees, Which is I think really High.
Lets talk about Bit-x:
If I cashout my btc through the card it take more than 20$ for each month. Because If I don't do five transection they will deduct .05 BTC for inactivity, and If i cash out for 5 times in each month then 5x .01+ 3% ( .05 +3%) fees will be deducted  Tongue Roll Eyes.
And If I exchange my money through some other exchanger It only takes 5$ not more than that. Im not much familiar with xapo, but have the feeling that it will also the same as the bit-x.

None of them, i recommend you to wait until the big companies (visa/mastercard) start releasing those so no middleman is involved.

last i heard, mastercard hates bitcoin, and i mean absolutely hates it (arguing bitcoin has slower tx times and higher fees than MC which are both completely untrue). i dont see any of the companies integrating bitcoin anytime soon. just some articles: http://www.coindesk.com/mastercard-executive-argues-bitcoin-cant-trusted/
http://upstart.bizjournals.com/entrepreneurs/hot-shots/2014/12/05/matthew-driver-bitcoin-critic-mastercard.html

these companies arent running a charity service; companies are for-profit entities and this is one service they offer to generate revenue. compare this to most major credit card companies that usually charge a flat fee in addition to a % fee of each transaction: http://www.merchantmaverick.com/the-complete-guide-to-credit-card-processing-rates-and-fees/

its not that much different.

theres nothing here. message me if you want to put something here.

It's a relatively new service and it would require a bigger user base for lower fees. The minimum 5 transactions per month really kills it for me, makes me feel like bit-x is too greedy.

can't see that happening any time soon, mastercard aren't exactly pro-btc.
they've been lobbying governments for more bitcoin regulation so I think it's safe to say they see btc as a [future] competitor.

compared to fees of most major credit card companies, they arent that much different. smaller userbase means a slightly higher fee so that bit-x can make some money for providing this service.

theres nothing here. message me if you want to put something here.

They seem to be trying to slow bitcoin's progression into the mainstream and definitely took a stance to not help it.  It will be interesting to see what happens though when bitcoin gains popularity, and maybe becomes competitive to the point where it makes sense for larger creditcard companies (MC, Visa) to adopt bitcoin into their business.

I know about Xapo, but I also heard that they had some early issues and I want to make sure I'm not going to misfire here. What's a good Bitcoin debit card to use?

I don't know what's the best but here's a list:

  • ANX
  • Coinkite
  • Xapo
  • Bit-x
  • Bitstamp

None of them, i recommend you to wait until the big companies (visa/mastercard) start releasing those so no middleman is involved.

can't see that happening any time soon, mastercard aren't exactly pro-btc.

visa/mastercard are not going to create bitcoin cards anytime soon.

Bitplastic is a well known scam. A proof of it http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1v9pzr/bitplastic_scam/. Xapo doesn't ship to India nor US. There's a list here: https://support.xapo.com/which-countries-can-xapo-ship-the-debit-card-to/. Xapo is allowing preorders but I'm not sure when would they send it.
