Coinbase featured on NASDAQ's giant screen in Times Square

CNBC has created the ultimate list of 50 private companies whose innovations are having a dramatic impact across their industries. These so-called "disruptors" have attracted billions of dollars in venture capital. They are now poised for hypergrowth.

I think it will attract more people willing to invest in Coinbase itself rather than Bitcoin. But it is definitely nice to see that a Bitcoin related company made it to this list.

we do need little step like this to accomplish the big picture, any bitcoin exposure is a good exposure

i'm not expecting the price to skyrocket because of thatt, but if other services like coinbase, start to do the same in various part of the world, something might surely happen

Wow, what great news! This definitely a good thing for bitcoin, it makes the idea of using bitcoin more "common place" and less associated with crime and gambling (a completely inaccurate but real stereotype.) It also helps people in the US recognize a domestic company that deals in this industry/currency/investment.

It's a good sign of things to come (as long as the hard fork does fuck things up.)

thats if they go public at the current state is still hasn't been a year since their last Venture capital investment so maybe in a few years it could happen.

Yea, That is the real irony .... People associate anything with coins, to physical coins... If they look at the name, they might think it has something to do with people trading in physical coins.

In some curious people, it could spark their curiousity and they will investigate further... The competitors on that list, will also look at these companies and they will acknowledge it's existance.

The more Bitcoin companies become visible in the market, the better for the whole community. Coinbase deserve their spot in the limelight, because they are working hard to build a brand.

Always good to see Bitcoin in the news and especially in Times Square how cool is that ^^.
A clear disruption to the financial system that will bring big change and attention.
I was a bit suprised it out ranked pininterest spotify and snapchat and noticed that Square was on that list at #40 and also take Bitcoin ^^.

#31 - Coinbase - The closest thing bitcoin has to a central bank.

No one knows coinbase if they are not into bitcoin already. People can only see the word "bitcoin" if they follow the link to the top50 list. Not bad for a bitcoin startup, nearly made it into top 30. It's nice positive exposure for bitcoin, especially focused exposure to the VC/technology readers.

Every time is the right time to introduce innovation.

I don't think that flashing Coinbase's name on Wall Street would make that much effect on bitcoin's side. However, Coinbase is mainly known because of its bitcoin-related services. Though that means something, we could not easily assume that there will be an effect in price, but we can safely say that awareness about bitcoin was spread because of that advertisement.

True but not quite. Bitcoin users don't care THAT much about Coinbase. But many businesses who want to incorporate Bitcoin payments into their system look at Coinbase or Bitpay as their doorway into the ecosystem.
