Feb. 14, 2010: I’m sure that in 20 years there will either be very large transaction volume or no volume.

In 5-10 years, the bitcoin market cap will reach about 10 Billion, so we're looking at $500 or so.

I think anything can happen. Long term it is impossible to say if bitcoins will still be the king. Personally I think that the value of cryptos will lean towards a better, more anonymous option in the future. But in any case imo the chances of bitcoin market cap going up are really good. It is just a matter of how attractive it looks to investors. It might eventually replace gold as a safe investment or storage of wealth, because it is so much easier to deal with than gold. If I had to put a number on it, I would say 5 bil market cap in 5 years, but honestly there is no way to predict such things.

I fixed it for you. He is troll, forget about him. Your input makes much sense, thank you Edit : 1000 Billion, will make us at $50K per bitcoin and not $500K

I think in 5/10 years it'll reach 11-13 Or die forever Yes, nobody is going to put any more dollar into something which couldn't get adopted in 10-15 years, the attention span of humans trips down every day Nobody will pay attention to something which be referred as digital scrap if nothing works out for it. Either bitcoin might sell for something less and is just left as something as simple as payment gateway (MAYBE)

I think in 5/10 years it'll reach 11-13 Or die forever this is what satoshi said, but what i think, is that even if bitcoin will not be successful in 10 years but at the same time nothing better will come out, we can still have some chances to rise in a more distant future like 20-30 years

I think in 5 years Bitcoin market cap will touch 10 billion. And for 10 years Bitcoin market cap will touch 20 billion. I think you forget a zero on the market cap size after 5 and ten years

interesting chart. I think btc is taking a large chunk out of the transactions that paypal and other payment processors would normally be handling. I know I've moved a lot of my transactions into btc for ease of use and savings in fees!

^^ - PayPal was established in 1998, not to mention it is working with "fiat" which people know and understand.
- the concept of credit cards was introduced in 1887 (yeah that's right). the first issued cards were from 1921.
- gold has been considered a valuable asset and was being traded in form of real coins back in 600 BC!
- world physical currencies is coming from 2000 BC.
- now bitcoin was introduced back in 2008. i say we are making excellent timing compared to all these assets in that list above.
