was just reading an article on cointelegraph about China and this sentence jumped out:

Quote
Or will it ultimately hurt the overall confidence of investors and the public towards Chinese markets and force money to flee to other asset classes such as gold or virtual currency?

virtual currency as an asset class.

when this idea becomes widely and globally accepted, that cryptocurrency is as legitimate an asset class as precious metals, real estate, stocks, or bonds, just imagine what will happen.

That doesn't really mean anything.
Newspapers/sites get terms wrong pretty often. I remember how often I tried to correct a newspaper, that the right translation for design patent is Geschmacksmuster, not just Patent(which is a huge difference). That was 2 years ago and I think, they still get it wrong.

I would not agree. People just really have different opinions when it comes to this. I've seen several people say that Bitcoin can never be a currency, but rather only an asset.
I don't agree with this at all. Even though it would be nice to see the price return to 2013-2014 levels, I would rather see a high increase in global adoption (which might however tag along with the price increase).

I mean if conventional wisdom becomes 'you should have some of your wealth in stocks, some in bonds, some in real estate and some in Bitcoin' that would be something.
