Did you try posting in the CGMiner thread? That's a good place to receive CGMiner help. Sam

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text. Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing? A: Top-posting. Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?

really not a cgminer issue.. windows issue. check in computer->manage->devices->display adapters windows is always the same/similar steps try each, if not working, try next reboot shut down, change cards around, make sure power is properly plugged into cards.. reinstall drivers uninstall gpus, reboot start removing cards one by one, or start with one and add one by one sometimes you have to install drivers twice (i do the full CCC install)

Thanks for all the help, I was able to get it working.
First tried reinstalling drivers....same issue
Tried uninstalling and then installing drivers.... same issue
Finally just did a clean install of Windows and all drivers....WORKED!

A windows reinstall was compleatley unneccessary, My bet is that you never Properly uninstalled the drivers' SDK, by running something like Driver Sweeper

i didn't want to open a new thread now and post my concern here, because i think that the topic title fits to all cgminer problems in general wanted to restart all my miners (5x compac f and 2x r909) today, since a long time. after i execute the ./cgminer ... command, i get the following message: [2023-09-30 13:56:41.380] No devices detected! [2023-09-30 13:56:41.381] Waiting for USB hotplug devices or press q to quit i have not changed anything at all on the system (rpi4) and version 4.12.1 of cgminer is installed - anyone got an idea?

An 11 year necro-bump. I think that is a record. If you run lsusb https://linux.die.net/man/8/lsusbWhat devices are listed. And the obligatory, did you reboot the Pi and power cycle the USB hub(s) that the miners are plugged into? Also, if you plug in a basic device like a mouse into the hub(s) with the miners does the OS see it? -Dave

hehe, why should i create a new thread when i found this one already created via the search function pi@raspberrypi:~/cgminer $ lsusb Bus 002 Device 003: ID 04e8:4001 Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd PSSD T7 Bus 002 Device 096: ID 0bda:0411 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. of the 3 available usb ports, the usb mouse only does not respond on the usb 3.0 port (a hard disk is connected to the second blue (usb 3.0) port)

Although not 100% the same you should be seeing something like the below showing the attached devices. If not something else is wrong. Check all the cables and connections and such. Since it's not responding to the mouse, I would point to something with the USB ports themselves. Can you plug the miners into a different device to see if they are seen there? If that works then it's probably the Pi if they do not work in the other device then it's probably it's the cables or USB hub. -Dave If the fan was pulling extra juice and also plugged into Port 1 or Port D it might have messed up the power going to the hub chip. Any other ports should be pretty much bulletproof.
If you plug the hub in and run 'lsusb' it should read out a Terminus FE2.1 7-port USB hub on the bus.
It does now which is weird. It didn't when the fan was in port 1. pi@RPi4:~ $ lsusb Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub Bus 001 Device 006: ID 0403:6015 Future Technology Devices International, Ltd Bridge(I2C/SPI/UART/FIFO) Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0403:6015 Future Technology Devices International, Ltd Bridge(I2C/SPI/UART/FIFO) Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0403:6015 Future Technology Devices International, Ltd Bridge(I2C/SPI/UART/FIFO) Bus 001 Device 003: ID 1a40:0201 Terminus Technology Inc. Does your USB hub have separate power? Check the power supply it might not giving enough power if you have an extra power supply you can test it or try to run your miner one by one. Also, make sure the USB hub is connected only to USB2, not USB3. If it still doesn't work you might need to reinstall everything on the RPi4 you can follow the guide on Kano.is or check the troubleshooting guide below - https://kano.is/gekko.php#trf

Hey guys. I'm glad I found the right thread. But basically, I've been trying to mine testnet btc using cgminer but no success so far. I'm getting multiple errors. One is Fatal JSON error. The other is need to specify at least one pool server.
I am basically trying to mine with my Windows computer using the built in GPU which is a AMD 550. The cgminer that I am using is 3.7.2. I've seen other version like 4.9.2 but it seems like that version is for asic only.
Could someone post a sample cgminer config for me? Also, I have a testnet full node running. I am supposedly having a P2Pool running also via dockerfile. It shows online. But maybe my config is wrong or something. In any case, can someone post a sample of how I should config my cgminer for a single GPU on a Windows desktop?
Thank you.

Since it shows no miners, it's one of: Your hub is dead You forgot to put power into your hub Your hub power is dead Your miners are dead You forgot to connect the hub cable to your rpi The hub cable is dead Your rpi is faulty

Still makes no sense resurrecting a decade old thread instead of posting in the proper support thread.

There is NO GPU mining in cgminer.
Ok. But how do you get cgminer to work? By getting it from Kano's GIT, https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer then reading the extensive README and pointing it at a supported ASIC-based miner...
