I just started to get into the bitcoin market and I'm using Coinbase.  But it has been down for about an hour now.  The entire site won't even show up.  Should I be concerned about my money??

Of course you should , it's your money on the line . that's why you should never keep your money in an online wallet/exchange .

CoinBase is a wallet/shop that does not give you your own private key, which makes it vulnerable. You should use wallet (online/offline) that allows you to access your own private key and exchanges like LocalBitcoins.com or 100bit.co.in are always preferred over centralized shops like CoinBase. At least you wont lose your KYC details to some notorious hacker, even if their database gets hacked.

Don't worry about it.  Maybe they are updating the database of website.
Just wait for some time and it's gonna be OK.

Noticed that now. It is faster now and received my payment quicker then usual.

update:
It is down once again.

Coinbase is currently offline

No cached version is available.

The most likely causes:
•The server is down for maintenance
•There may be a network problem
•The site may be experiencing excessive load

I would imagine from everyone logging in all at once, it is overloading their servers.
Way to stress test them guys!

It's back up again. There is no need to worry about that.
Still you shouldn't hold your money in exchanges.

I've already written the same thing, why did you write completely same post after 10 minutes?
