I always sold too early....
My worst investment was Quark (in 2013)..... I bought 2 500 000 Quarks for 2.1 BTC  @100 sat....
And sold at @350 sat for 8.5 BTC one month later......

I was such a fool...... one month after i sold, price was @20 000 sat per coin.  Tongue
I could sell for 500 BTC ... but nevermind.....

Weed saved me... LOL
I can´t walk away from crypto..... I do believe I will hit some coin in the future.
Patience is the key.

I recommend to consider Monero.
However, as you said - it is important to hold it patiently. Buy some coins now and send them to your mymonero-wallet and come back 1-2 years from now. You might end up being a millionaire or even a billionaire (depend how many coins you are owning), in fiat terms of course even if bitcoin dumps big time.

Not me. I know a few people did it, but it is worse than gambling, for each one that wins big, thousands lose everything or most of it

from my personal experience, i would never put my trust in any altcoin ever more than a couple of months tops. all of them are good for getting in and out of quickly without any hesitation Smiley

for all i know 1-2 years from now ....coin can be worth 1 satoshi like a lot of them that are at those levels now and 1-2 years ago people were claiming the same thing you are today.

I think it takes time before you learn which coin is good for your and which is bad. Too bad lot of "new investors" end up investing in shitcoins because of greed and end up losing their investment and never return to cryptoland.

This applies directly to shitcoins. Here is a video on how to make money with shitcoins: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6P2FB9Mg_YI

However, Monero is not among those shitcoins.
Monero has a growing community which is over 1 year old. The price has been pretty stable (the trading range has been pretty tight between 0.002-0.004).

Some of altcoins will become pretty valuable and I doubt bitcoin is the ultimate currency. The challenge is to pick the right alts to which stick to.
Premines are bad as the developers has no incentive to do their work but simply pump the coin and then dump and run away with your money.
Good coins there are just a handful, Monero being one of them and as it solves the key problems with bitcoin (fungibility issues and privacy) therefore I am a little bit heavier in Monero as I see it has potential to grow in the coming years. However, the odds for success is obviously pretty thin but each day the coins are mined and bought and stored away from exchanges, the odds for success increase a tiny bit.
Soon the coin supply will dry out and then there are time to pump the coin.
I hope as many people joins the party now as possible until it is too late. But don't go all in Monero though. Be smart.  Smiley
