Good job on the awesome work, however is there is any reason why the wallet is little bit laggy ? I noticed that when I switch between different tabs "Send / Receive" to "Payement" or something , it's kinda laggy and takes some time to load GUI the other tab Shocked It's not taking long time but  you just feel it :/
You click => wait seconds => then you get the other tab

Thanks for your feedback.

We are expecting to spend the rest of the summer fixing bugs and tweaking things so we can gradually improve the screen rendering at the same time.

I noticed yesterday that on Windows the fee slider is laggy too - it's probably firing a whole load of events as it's changing.

The Payments and Send/Request screen is, behind the scenes, processing all the transaction info before rendering so it's probably in that area.

Great Work on the new release!

about fees:

You support tickers such as USD and EUR.  Could it be possible (or reasonable) for there to be a ticker for 'fee-data' that could taken from a trusted (and signed) bitcoin full-node?

Sure it could be hacked, however if there is reasonable hard-coded limits the only real hack is giving miners a few extra cents, or the transactions never confirming.

I guess the 'too low fee' attack is more annoying that the 'slightly too high fee' attack.

Full-RBF is going to solve all these issues, however that is a while off.

edit: add complement for the new release.

One off NP-Hard.

Gary and I have discussed this.

For instance, the XChange library does a brilliant job of enabling easy lookup from lots of exchanges.
Having something similar for fees would be very useful. But it doesn't exist at the moment.

In addition to full replace-by-fee there is also child-pays-for-parent that you could in theory use to make a low fee transaction more desirable to miners by daisy chaining a tx with a higher fee to the parent.

Miners' fees are all in a state of flux at the moment.

edit: Added thanks for the compliment !! :-)

I am running MultiBit HD 0.1.1 but it is not asking if it should update itself to 0.1.2 ("semi-automatic upgrade process") ? Semi-automatic update from 0.1.0 to 0.1.1 worked, though.

Yeah, unfortunately the upgrade from 0.1.0 to 0.1.1 was set up correctly but the config file to do the same from 0.1.1 to 0.1.2  is not right. It is a bit annoying and, because it is in the 0.1.1 client, it'll take us the next version to correct it.

To upgrade just download it from https://multibit.org.
