recently a new chess site appeared it's still new but maybe you should check it if you like PVP
here is the link for the thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1114433.0
you can check the discussion there about bots etc .. and then you can decide if you want to play or not

Chess would count in for that. Apart from that I have heard Girlbtc is also skill based. Not sure if thats true.

Not skill based, but strategies + bankroll based . You cant win with only strategies or skill there

Strategies is also part of skill if it can help people win ,  just like any other game of poker is. However was just looking at their thread and seems it is more luck and bankroll based. Not sure how they claim it to be skill.

There is a site called Gambit.com and it has few skill based games like Monopoly, Backgammon, Dominoes etc. You can challenge other players and/or open up seeks and someone who wishes to play will join, I haven't been there in a while but it's quite fun. Try it and you might like it.

you can try out tappabit: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1098747.0

its pretty simple; click stop when the timer is close to zero, and the closest one will win. its new so there arent that many players, would love to see the site pick up a bit.

theres nothing here. message me if you want to put something here.

@OP There aren't too many skill based gambling games as people suspect that they might get abused using bots and all, if you search this subsection, I think there was a guy offering 8 ball Pool game in a thread, you can try to see if he's still up for it and if you think you can defeat him at that.

Edit: This is the thread I think https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=962358.0

He also seems to be offering other games;

I like Bustabit a lot. It is not completely PVP but it does involve a small PVP and skill factor in which you have to compete with other gamblers for the bonus.

I do too
Was it that game where there were 2 fish and the bigger won got the money from the other fish?
I was playing that last summer, never played it since then. Is it still up and working?
I might try it out some time again

there was a bomberman clone also PVP game here. dont remember the URL and not sure they are sill operating. And there is blockchainreaction very cool game.

This might not be what you are looking for but theoretical fairlay.com matches your description. It is purely p2p and predictions like: https://www.fairlay.com/event/category-decimal/bitcoin/ are skill/knowledge based.

Bustabit is very tricky place.
You can win there for days, but then, in a single hour you can lose everything.
I lost there a lot, and im not getting closer again.

I'm also looking for pvp games where you can play for btc. I see people here recommending chess, which is a game that I really like, but won't chess have the problem of players just using a software to play for them?

I will definitely try the other sites you are talking about though, but I just don't know if chess is a fair option.
