Will extra slots get handed out to the top X bidders?

No. If all 52 slots aren't filled, there will just be fewer slots, and every ad will get more pageviews.

Yes it is clever in an auction to outbid an acceptable bid bid by 60 times... I hope you have more business smarts than this with your other operations.

Thanks! I'm surprised by how spread-out the bids are. 3 cablepair 2 usagi 2 Akemashite Omedetou .88 Pirate Cove .77 Garr255 .5 xchrix .42 jga .4 tgmarks .3 slush .3 wmx.support .25 wmXchange .25 mc_lovin .2 Luceo .2 Grix .2 DeathAndTaxes .17 OneVillain .15 Cryptostocks .14 Kumala .11 kakobrekla .1 TangibleCryptography .1 edd .1 CoinLab .1 kano .07 FreeMoney .06 Goat .05 Inaba .05 rate5 .05 boonies4u

me too.
Listen when this auction is over - whatever slots that are remaining out of the 52 - I will pay for them - matching the lowest offered price - and maybe we can just give them out to donators, or vip members or to people who want to advertise something but cant afford them. I don't know you can figure out who they go to.
But I want to support the forum so I am willing to personally match the lowest offered price in this auction for however many slots are left and you can allocate them however you want. I am sure you will give them to good causes.

That wasn't the terms specified by theymos. If less than 52 slots are sold then the sold slots simply have a larger share. If you are concerned about the profitability of the forum you could always make another donation.

your right, I wouldn't want to make your ad's any less effective. That's not what I am trying to do. Theymos said he wants to run 52 original advertising slots and that is what is going to happen.
I am not trying to make anyone's ad any less effective, I am trying to support the forum and this celebration effort by theymos: which btw: I have already donated more than what is required for a VIP account on my own, Months ago.
If this forum has made you money - do the right damn thing and donate a respectable amount that a MAN would donate. Don't just give the bare minimum. To me thats pathetic.
Where I come from you take care of your own - and that's what I am doing here.
If you guys don't do it than the rest of the slots become FREE for who ever wants them paid for by yours truly.
enjoy.

Um no once again. You are limited to one bid on one slot. Any unsold slots are simply unsold. If 40 slots sell then each slots 1/40th of the total impressions. If 48 slots sell then each slots is 1/48th the total impressions. If all 52 sell then each slots is 1/52 the total impressions. So no the rest don't become free, the rest don't get bought by you. Those were the terms specified by theymos and I doubt he is going to break his word mid auction just because you feel the bids are too low.

alright no problem.
I dont want to get everyone upset.
but I still want to see 52 slots from 52 different people and I still want to support the forum as much as possible - if anyone wants to borrow the BTC to run an advertising slot - I am offering 0% interest BTC loans for whatever the minimum amount it takes to get an ad slot - the loan can be paid back whenever you are able to pay it back - no time limits are required. If your interested PM me.
Thanks.

Thanks for the offer, but I specified in the auction rules that any unsold slots will not be sold and the remaining slots would end up getting a bigger share of the pageviews.
