so, we have:

DNS Servers

protocol goes to static and what do i need to put in the rest?

thx!

LE:
settings on c1:
Hostname     ANTMINER
Protocol         STATIC
IP Address     192.168.1.xz
Netmask       255.255.255.0

IP address has to be fully numeric - that .xz at the end won't work.
I'm not sure if the hostname has to be unique, but better to be so sometimes. I use something like "S5antZZZ" where ZZZ is actually the last part of the IP address.
Given your gateway and dns server addresses, everything else looks fine.

If you are in fact connected to a router that is at 192.168.1.1 and whose netmask is 255.255.255.0, then yes those are good settings.

Make sure to pick a unique IP for your miner or you will have some issues.

Normally, I set DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 (Google's DNS) unless you set your router to use 8.8.8.8.  I found in the past my ISPs don't always have the most up to date info and I would have some trouble finding certain pools using their DNS.

I would agree on changing DNS to something else and googles 8.8.8.8 that was mentioned above does work well.

What I suggest if you had that much problems last time upload a picture to us.  If you upload a picture showing settings you will put without saving it we can look at it and hopefully save you a headache.

Another option to consider is to leave the S5 set to DHCP. Most routers have a builtin DHCP server. You will also likely find a setting in the router that will cause it to hand out a specific IP address based on the MAC address of the S5. While not strictly a static IP address, it still shows up where you expect, and you don't have to worry abound tinkering with the S5 config, and getting it messed up.

This may not work for all routers, but it's quite common, and a handy trick to use.
