Why?

S&Gs? Antique collection? Just for fun to try and solo mine a block?

Theyre value should go up in the next few years as collector items.

I really doubt people would even try to actually use them considering 333 MH would make about 3 cents a month not counting electric which obviously, anywhere in the world, would put you in the red no matter what. If I were to do it, I'd solo mine. If I solved a block with one this forum would never hear the end of it.  Wink

Im baaaack! Looking for sig campaign. DM me if interested.

ehm not the same thing, there is an old thread talking about the difference between finding a block in a pool and finding a block in solo, the latter is much harder

there are different odds, if that that guy was mining in solo in that time instead of mining in a pool, he would not have found anything

Well with collectables its only as valuable as the number of copies there are in the market
So if someone goes and loses/destroys a bunch their value increases as well.

i doubt so, it would be a waste anyway, one is like 30w, you need 10-20 for heating your room seriously, i think they are buying those because they are not bulky like an antminers and can be plug&play more easily, also more elegant to see, they work good with mac

collectors are surely to think in the future the possibility of owning a machine that changed the thinking of the world on tariffs among other things, always have a group of fanatical collectors of everything imaginable the business and be the one to own, old model over time, tendency to value depending on their state of preservation

they are great for new people who are interested in finding out how the mining thing works. it doesn't cost much and gets the job done, eventhough it isn't worth using them.

Going rate is pretty much $5/piece unless you've got a 'rare' one - but why sell at $5 if you can still fetch $20 on ebay?
And if a buyer is looking to buy a rare one, or just wants to complete a set - then it really doesn't matter that they could get 3.2Gh/s for $25, 16.5Gh/s for $25 (GekkoScience Compac), or even 100Gh/s for $25 as that wasn't what they were looking for.

It's the first portable ASIC miner, it has historical significance. I would buy one if I see it locally, not for mining of course. It would make a nice keychain or stick it on your desk at work to help promote bitcoin.

I still have 30 of them from when I bought off someone on here. And have the next models up that produce 2.2 to 3GH Blue Fury USB miners. Maybe the price will go up on them as being a part of mining history for collectors. Might even just put them to mining again and leave running solo mining, maybe get lucky in generating a block or put to use on some other alt coins.

They are a great way to learn about mining on a budget.   There are TONS off them out there.

So someone can use one of these and for 10-15 bucks learn mining with an actual asic.   They were good build quality so I expect to see them for a long time.

Indeed it is a cheap way to learn about mining. Gets you in the mining filed and world of setting up configs and changing and learning more about it. Saves a person from buying a massive unit and not having any idea on how to configure and losing profits or RIO on bigger units. Like you said 10-15 bucks spent is cheap enough and you get to learn.
