I think it will be hard to push in America with all the fees.  We're use to no fees and cash back.  But it would be nice to basicly use bitcoin for anything u can pay with a credit card.

What fees?

With their recent partnership with Bit-x I bet you'll begin seeing these in the whole of North America. Do you have one yet? What's your experience so far?

I am not getting it, I don't really have a use for it because I am holding my few coins for now.  But this is the things we need for better adoption.  But I think the real barrier right now is not spending the coins, but getting them in the first place.  It is too much of a pain for the average person.  The "killer app" everyone is wondering about will be what allows people to easily buy btc with a reasonable rate and without all of the jumping through hoops that you have right now.

Three years ago, this thread would've possibly been at least two pages long by now. Today, with this forum enjoying over half a million members, my post is the sixth entry. Think about that!

First they need to update their website;

Address: https://nanocard.eu - Message: Coming soon. May 2015

Second it does look very interesting. I may get one to see it working

Visit Satoshi's Place, a Bitcoin Hub based in Bury, Manchester, UK.

monthly fee is free for the first 10k, but i guess this is one of those card wth crazy fee for withdrawal and limited amount unless you verify

the real killer app would be the one that will assure almost 100% or 100% security, which is the primarely reason why many are not buying bitcoin

it's hard to trust a random software when you want to put a lot of money in it, think about when bitcoin was still young and many thought that it was a virus, well there are many people out there, that yet think the same even nowadays

Im not sure about it. In terms of privacy, what sort of connection would it make with your address? how does this show up on the blockchain? does it use a randomly new generated address to pay each time HD style or a fixed address? because on that case it would be pretty much useless. Who want to pay with the same address every time plus have that address linked to your real data? No one wants merchants to know how much money you've spent buying and whatnot.

Not sure if its got more to do with multiple services running out the gate at the same time with similar services. Might be spreading us thin.
Or it could be summer, think a majority of bitcoiners are young males right?

I ordered one earlier on today. It's number 135 so I guess not that many people have ordered these cards yet.

I'm 138, not going very fast. Plenty of time for someone to get free monthly fees if they do that for first 10K

Does this thing allow the instant transfer of BTC to fiat? and all the transaction made in stores anonymous (on the system obviously)?

I like how they announce this card to be: "Versatile, global, anonymous" But I can't see any info on how exactly this anonymous status is achieved with Debit Card.
Also this: "Low commission: We guarantee the lowest commission on all card transactions, as well as low service fees." - But Fees are still there, and there are probably on par with standard debit card fees.

Bitcoin Debit card is option for desperate Bitcoin Users who want to use bitcoin at any price. I will wait for direct bitcoin acceptance.

Volatility will be a massive issue with regular use, and from one day to the next but same here, no mention on the anonymous part..

That's what they claim, and that's what I'm gonna find out. I didn't register with my exact name, so let's see if that causes any disruption. It claims to pull directly from your Bitcoin balance on their exchange.
The real test would be to see if there is a transaction log, as in if where the money is spent is recorded.

i have my doubts on the anonymous part, seeing how those cards are all working on mastercard or visa circuit, every transaction can be tracked back easily if they want, and if the amount isn't puny

You can also order it from Bit-x, its the exact same card and your order is processed immediatley, no waiting. Ordered one on friday and see it has already been sent off to me.

No, the card has not arrived but I regret signing up.

.05 BTC monthly fee for inactivity, in the U.S. you can only spend 250€ a year (verified or not) and the inactivity fee is waived if you keep 5 BTC in your account at all time. Nobody in their right mind should do that!

https://ccedk.mojohelpdesk.com/help/article/141051

Oh, and I should add that "inactivity" means less than 5 transactions.
So. How small must your transactions be to do 5 transactions a month and stay under 250€?
