Why is it frowned upon to want to change your race but sex is fine?
It feels like there could be some sexism at play but having a hard time wrapping my head around it.

Seems to only be a issue if you are passing off as a minority,since lighter skinned minorities pass off as white all the time.
Why does race trump sex in this discussion?

Yes, good question. And since people invented new types of sexuality , we can invent new types of races.
