I think the throw away account is sort of silly, but if you provide pictures and escrow does not matter. I do think that selling with a trusted account is always better since it keeps everyone more relaxed. Good luck on the sale!

So you created a new 'throw away' account to protect your identity then later in the thread you say you're going to reveal your real identity along with some pictures? This doesn't make any sense?

If you're serious and actually have the coin you're trying to sell I'd recommend that you either sell it on this thread with some good pictures with your username and date in and accept escrow or just post it from your real account.

Either way I don't really understand why you've done this? Perhaps just some high jinx Saturday night fun or weird new scam attempt Huh.

You said everyone is familiar with you here.

So assume that it is true, I'll make a guess that you currently have 63 level trust ?

To the OP, when you take those pictures can you please make sure the pics are clear so we can see the detail and know the 6 digit address prefix (so we can verify the coin is funded)?

Thanks.

This is actually a point ive often thought about;

When it comes to Casascius coin, wouldn't it make more sense to blur out the prefix, while ensuring that the photo is very clear and proves that the hologram is intact? This way, the particular coin cannot be 'tracked'. I personally believe this is the best way; has a fully intact casascius coin ever been seriously questioned regarding it being funded?

That said, im happy to ensure it all shows clearly if thats what the buyers want Smiley

p.s. What are the market's thoughts on using throw-away handles vs. original accounts for sales? I didnt put much thought into it; just figured 'why not'. On one hand; escrow and clear photos eliminate risk. on another hand, the well-known individual may gain much more interest. Thoughts?

The funding interest is also to make sure the coin hasn't been overfunded, beyond what Mike first funded the coin with - to me (not everyone) this ruins the original value and state of the coin.

I think using a newb account to facilitate sales is fine, you'll just be expected to use an escrow for the sale and payment.

This is definitely an interesting thread and looks like it's gonna be a bit of fun. When you say 1 guess per hour does that mean 1 guess per hour per user or what?

I'm calling wheresmycoin out on his bluff. We know it's you! Wink

Teaser

This is most likely not the same coin that miffman sold to monkeynuts earlier this year. The syntax on the miffman/monkeynuts coin was [address] Silver, while the syntax on your coin is Silver [address]. Although it is possible (but IMO very unlikely) that monkeynuts were to get the coin reslabbed.

Prior to posting the picture, I did have one guess as to who you are, and honestly didn't think any pictures would ever be posted. Now that you have posted somewhat of a picture, I haven't a clue who you are

Well it can't be Monkeynuts as he's from the UK and shopping is from North America.
My second guess (it's been over an hour since my first) would be bitmarket.io

Do you happen to know when about it got graded? If it was more then ~2 months ago, then the theory going around that ANACS is giving out generally higher grades would somewhat be diluted.

I not sure when exactly it was graded. That said, it does look quite flawless in the photo if I do say so myself Smiley
