There is planty of them , but I would suggest to go with Desktop wallets like Bitcoin or Electrum or Multibit HD . (I do use Bitcoin Core)
Here is full list of wallets : https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet (depends on what Operating system you plan to run the wallet on ) I don't suggest to use Online wallets like blockchain.info or any keeping your money into an exchange web

but if you want and SPV wallet i suggest using Electrum.

paper wallet for long-term savings (https://www.bitaddress.org)

..and mainly, try to avoid storing any portion of BTC on any online service.

Anyway, I like blockchain because it's simple interface and once you created and used it for the first time, you will master it for less than 10 minutes

sorry, but you are recommending something like blockchain web wallet to new users? Electrum takes 5 minutes to install and configure, user interface is also straight forward and simple and it is multiple times safer.

guess why there is not mentioned blockchain web wallet on official bitcoin.org site within web wallets section..?

I wouldn't recommend blockchain, as it keeps getting DDoSed or something. Even blockchain's API keeps bugging out which is why many sites are having problems with crediting the deposits.

I want to share with you my experience.
Blockchain is terrible, as far as i know and also from my friends that were using it.
I suggested them to use a web wallet such as Coinbase.
If you dont have a large amount of Bitcoins then it would be very good to use coinbase.
We know that here a signed message is a good thing here and can protect you so you can sign a message there.
You also can use the android app or the iOS app, and get your wallet wherever you go.
I can send you a ref link where you can earn $25/25€ if you buy $100 of bitcoin or more.
Let us know what wallet do you choose.

from my experience with blockchain I can say it has been good unless the transaction messes up and no transaction fee gets sent or there is a stress test or something else holding up bitcoins being transferred :O
edit - using the original client is the most secure and wisest option

Hi, welcome to the forum man.     Like many have mentioned, there are a couple of sites with suggestions.  I would start out with a web wallet like Coinbase or Blockchain.  Just start out with a web wallet and study the hardware wallets and understand you only keep small amounts in the web wallet and only use it for day to day transactions.  Best of luck.

more or less , you take the same amount of risk with using any of the online wallets. and especially the ones that you dont have the private keys to your bitcoin addresses.

this is why people usually suggest that you keep minimal amount on online wallets and only if you want it to be fast accessible from anywhere easily.

the only good choice for keeping bitcoin IMO is cold wallets .

I personally use Electrum, i don't need to download the data, this wallet is secure, and i don't have any trouble, yet. Most likely they were saying not to use it for majority of coins.  This is as it is hot storage, could be hacked possibly.

Cold storage such as paper wallets, etc.  Are where it's suggested to keep the majority of your coins.    Cold storage do not touch the internet except when needing wallet so much better security.

For safety stick to an offline wallet. Be sure to back it up and have print our of all the private keys. Browse through this forum to see what wallet you can use. Also there are online wallets but it's less secure.
