Every time I create a new wallet.

Also who had the idea on the design aspect to make users create new wallets every time they wanted to load a saved wallet from "Save Copy"? Why would you force users to create more addresses and go through what should be out-of-scope steps to use saved ones?

I have faith that one day this forum will get threads where people won't just repeat their previous posts or what others have already stated in the same thread. Also that people will stop acting like BTC is toy-money and start holding vendors accountable. Naive? Maybe.

Huh

Haven't use the "portable" version of Electrum on Windows, lately, but...

Normally, File --> Open   will allow you to open any wallet that you saved with File --> Save Copy, without asking you to create new addresses.

Please provide more info to trouble shoot your "user retardedness" issue.

There is "Restore a wallet or import keys" which has a file opener but it just puts the XML in the UI input and doesn't activate the next button..

Looks like their never going to fix this. You have to burn addresses and keys every time you want to open a wallet..

Have you tried starting electrum with a shortcut pointing to your wallet file?
electrum -w path\filename

That works thanks

It should really be in the UI. All versions have it where if you open the file with "Restore a wallet or import keys" it just dumps the XML to the input element and doesn't highlight "Next"

You should report this issue to their issue tracker at https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues so it can get fixed.
