You say 'getting greedy', and I say 'getting out of competition with credit/debit card thieves who can offer Amazon purchases for almost any discount and still profit with near-zero expenses'...
Let's call the whole thing off!
People who are used to getting massive discounts that thieves offer like to call honest retailers "greedy" for trading for a tiny margin (if any). I have even been accused of being a scammer for selling a gift card at face value (because con artists offer it cheaper elsewhere). People like you (op) are the reason people like me don't sell gift cards any more.
People who can't/don't want to offer discounts like to call others who can/are willing to "thieves".
People wanting discounts (everybody??) are the reason you and others can't sell for the price you want? That's called a free market sir!
Just because someone is willing to sell for a value below yours that doesn't give you the right to make remarks about that person's honesty or call them a thief.
Unfortunately this forum has a policy of letting people troll marketplace posts freely because "free speech".
Really??? Unfortunately we have free speech?
I advertise my gift cards at face value, I wouldn't say they never get sold. It just takes a while and you have to hustle when people put up WTBs for gift cards & proxy purchases.
I didn't say anything about them never getting sold, people will buy from you at face value if they are convinced you aren't going to rob them based on your trust ratings, but in the meantime the endless stream of entitled assholes crying about the price makes it not worth it.
Why would someone buy a gift card at face value on a forum?
Why would you consider that a normal behaviour unless you are an interested party?
This forum allows people to post countless threads freely about traders here in many sections bringing any misconduct to light very quickly. Controlling trolls and other 3rd parties not interested in an exchange within a users own marketplace ops is not the same as denying free speech, sorry. That's why I put it in quotes, because it is just an excuse moderators use to not have to deal with trolls and others being purposely disruptive for no reason other than their own entertainment. For a forum that centers around a method of exchange, I find this to be quite idiotic to have such a hostile environment for retailers willing to accept Bitcoin (as if there isn't enough to deal with already).
People still buy giftcards at face value because they are reassured by the seller's legitimacy, but that doesn't stop people like you accusing sellers of greed for asking what they paid for while you buy illicitly obtained gift card credits and point fingers. There are legitimate retailers of discounted cards (I have been one of them), but the large majority of anything discounted more than 20-30% are fraudulent regardless if you want to believe it or not.
