Why did you get into bitcoin?
Because I saw 50 58xx GPUs in my neighbor's basement  Shocked Grin
Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

I've had an interest in economics, particularly forex, for many years - and having observed currencies fluctuate and move against each other in that time (along with various events which cause them to do so wildly) - the concept of confidence being a basis for workable currency has become a much clearer reality to me.

Hence, as I have watched Bitcoin start from nothing, and seen it begin to glimmer in prospect of what it could become - I have became ever increasingly interested in it.

The idea of a decentralized, point to point crypto-currency which is infinitely divisible is... completely fascinating.

I look forward to seeing what will happen to it in the future!

I've been looking for a way to rent my computer power for money.
Then I found bitcoin, knew that it is a p2p decentralized project, which means it is extremely hard to kill! just like bittorrent.
I tried it first on crappy nvidia gpus, over a year i made enough to buy a decent ATI gpu with bitcoins only! installed that on my home file server for 24/7 mining.
then sold my nvidia cards for ATI ones and made my main computer mining almost 20/7 Smiley

Perhaps, but there is evidence to suggest that homeless Jackie just might actually be homeless Jack...

I think bitcoins have a great future - it could have a enormous economical impact. Ever since the financial crisis I have wondered about banks. Well, Bitcoin provides an alternative to banking.

What he said...  Really because it's so esoteric and open source and has so many potential applications not just naughty ones.  When SHTF I want to have alternate means to thrive.

I got into bitcoin as an experiment, but all I have found so far are scammers like the OP.

It makes sense though.

The idea of my computer sitting in the corner churning out money is appealing. Instant global transactions is even better. In the end, it was a non-traditional means to seek wealth with a lot of risk. Which I enjoy.
