Number of Argentinian Merchants Accepting Bitcoin Doubles Amid Inflation Concerns

Since last year, the number of bitcoin merchants in Argentina has doubled, according to the Financial Times. This growth comes primarily from small businesses, which are showing the highest bitcoin growth and adoption rate in all of Latin America.

Wow, I believe I read that Brazil also was a large driver of btc use.

Could this be what Greek businesses start to do?  Any time a country sees that their debt is being "restructured" aka enlarged, they should be doing this.  They will thank themselves a few years down the road...

The financial system is failing all around us, people are finally waking up to see there is an alternative out there. Doesn't make it viable for every country, but at least it's there.

Meanwhile a former notable mining pool, CEX.io currently operating as a bitcoin exchange announced a partnership with AstroPay that aims to provide local currency account deposits and withdrawals in LATAM region.
The integration will enable purchasing bitcoin with local currencies in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Uruguay. The clients from Turkey and China will also be able to fund their accounts by using AstroPay platform.
