With the impending reward halving next year, when do you think will the price start ramping up?

Since it's going to happen the end july Reward-Drop ETA: 2016-07-28 06:08:29 UTC (53 weeks, 1 day, 21 hours, 30 minutes) ( http://bitcoinclock.com/ ) we could say that price should start going up after couple of months , maybe September 2016

after? i would say before a couple of months, like it happened with litecoin so around may

there is also the possibility that it will happen before and after the halving, like it did with the last halving

but seeing how there is more hype for this halving because bitcoin is more known now, i can say that even on march or earlier something will begin to move

I think price will increase before the halving, but it won't be because of the halving, it'll be because of a whole bunch of other reasons.

It will be a combination of f debt crisies+capital controls+ETF+mining reward halving+greed and the fear of missing out a bitcoin rally =™self full filed prophecy.

i believe it would go up even before halving as people would start buying bitcoins like crazy as they will expect a huge price rise in some time, i cant wait till the halving i guess i will have to buy some coins before that too

Known information such as all future halvings are already anticipated and therefore reflected in current prices. No price increase to be expected.

Sure there will be price increases. Whenever something positive happens that hasn't been anticipated before. But no price increases because of events that we already know will happen.
If demand increases more than the average market participant anticipates, BTC price will increase.

Okay...

Don't worry, I am quite bullish myself Smiley
There will certainly be price increases because of unanticipated positive events (but also unfortunately price decreases because of unanticipated negative events).
The halving is not unanticipated.

LTC may well drag BTC up with it over the next few weeks due to its own halving.

What happens after, I am not so sure.

Could well be a stable period until BTC's halving event draws closer.

if the past is any sort of indication i think the same thing is going to happen this time too, which means sort of an stable price before halving and then after a couple of months the price skyrockets.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

I've become extremely bullish regarding the bitcoin/block reward halving.

2009 - 2012 bitcoin/block: 50.00
2012 - 2016 bitcoin block: 25.00
2016 - 2020 bitcoin block: 12.50

Judging from history the price increase will be quite good. Grin
