Please help... more than a day after moving a significant amount of BTC, it has not shown up at its destination.
But my Electrum wallet is EMPTY.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Are you sure that you had entered the right address? Where was the Bitcoin supposed to go? Looking at that transaction, it has been confirmed for a while, so whoever received has already received it and you should no longer see the amount you sent in your wallet.

I've reported it to the receiving address... but wanted to make sure it was okay on this end as well. I've not yet gotten an answer from them.

I think the first thing you need to do is to verify ownership of these addresses: 1QABvNzCttpwtNjf9U8EmDDaRJNiGFtD3d (you sent 2.6 btc to) 1Ky95kvx6eijs4dYkvfcdHDaoKGZrpsBc4 (you sent 0.01 btc to) Are these your addresses? Could you find them anywhere in Electrum under the main address tree or the change address tree? If they are not there, those addresses are not Electrum's. The chances of getting them back are very slim. If one of them is in Electrum, right click on the address and choose "send from" and you can send it to any address you want. If both are not in Electrum, where could you have got the address from? It is from another client you have and you incorrectly cut and pasted it in the transaction? Search through all your wallets for those addresses and also your transaction history. You might have send your coins to someone you have sent to before. Think about who it is and ask them to return the coins to you.

No, not with electrum. It does it automatically for you. Its easier to help you if you answer the questions asked. Where should the coins go (as in: to which address)? How much coins did you send? Which electrum version do you use? Is electrum connected? Did you try to send the coins to a person or a service? Did the recipient confirm the address? Which wallet does the person reciving the coins use? Which service did you try to send to?

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

What is your xpub key? This is your master public key in electrum.
If you share it publicly then your money will not be at risk, however anyone looking at this thread will effectively have a list of all your addresses in your electrum wallet.

@OP, I would like to know what happened.
was it a change address? if yes, why did you think that your wallet was empty?
if it's a change address, it is included in the balance shown by Electrum.
maybe you had the feeling that your wallet was empty, because of what was displayed in the 'addresses' tab? if that's the case, it is something we definitely need to improve.

it would be great if something like this could be added to the interface: in front of the amount text box , a label with the maximum balance amount which also can be clicked in order to set the amount text box to the value of max balance.

This is like asking someone to make his bank statement public. You don't do that and no one should have to reveal his financial info publicly. in front of the amount text box , a label with the maximum balance amount which also can be clicked in order to set the amount text box to the value of max balance.
There is a way to do that although it isn't communicated well so most people don't know about it. You focus on the amount field by clicking on it and then press the exclamation point key on your keyboard to fill it with the max amount you can spend (excluding frozen addresses).
