Stand-Up Against Violence Everyone (S.A.V.E) Columbia's Children
Author of "Taking on the NFL:The National Martial Arts League and retired US Army Warrant Officer Dexter Kennedy will be leading the SAVE Columbia's Teens SummerCamp this year for one week only.
Our children have just completed a long summer and may have forgotten what those first few weeks of school will be like. Such as the lost of certain skills and or behaviors. The purpose of this camp is assist them in their adjustment and make them aware of some of the losses they may have endured such as:
Reading - Tutoring
Math - Tutoring
How to recognize and deal with bullies
Dance
English - Tutoring
and how to start your own business
All of which are a part of the SAVE Columbia Summer camp.
The camp costs $75 for the week but prior year AB Honor and better students get a 20% discount on the price. Just bring last years report card when you register your child.
Breakfast, Lunch and an afternoon snack are provided along with a T-Shirt and Book bag.
Just a reminder of what the program is really a bout and some statistics:
1 in 3 students is either a victim or a bully. Bullying is at its peak in middle school and by high school 1 in 4 students list bullying as their main fear ~scetv.org
In the 2009-2010 school year, more than over 103,000 suspensions were doled out to stu-dents in South Carolina. 3,900 students were expelled from school. ~scjustice.org
