I can't help but to notice everyone's fixation on the Bitcoin price and that it's been going sideways for awhile. Here's an article which thoroughly breaks down why Bitcoin is so important and more than just an investment: https://atriark.com/blog/bitcoin-beyond-investment-financial-freedom/

I believe that if we continue to focus on the true purpose and reason for Bitcoin's existence we will see another rally in price as a bi-product. Keep spreading the message and introducing as many people as possible to Bitcoin. I've managed to convince many of my freelancers to accept Bitcoin as a partial payment. Now if only I could convince clients to pay in Bitcoin at a discount then I'd be all set.

I'm doing my part!

Glad to see someone sees it perfectly. Everyday I see newbie users posting threads and treating BTC like trading stocks of wall street. Bitcoin is the true freedom of your own currency.

I also wrote an article about this:

The future of money ‘Bitcoinized’

It's good to finally see something different. People are driven by greed and thus they are often here for the wrong reasons.
Bitcoin is just so much more than digital money/an investment. It was about time that people took their money back into their own hands. We just have to make sure that we properly educate them before they follow through this process.

This, and you advertise a gambling site in your signature? Huh

We just have to make sure that we properly educate them before they follow through this process.

You mean we should educate people to invest in your dice game?

Will do small programming tasks cheaply in exchange for BTC. Check out my thread or PM me!

The potential for bitcoin is certainly worth more than what price is represented on the charts. Bitcoin allows for person to person banking which is huge for countries where the central banks have failed.

there isn't something like "we can" , we can't do nothing people around the world aren't a big group that can drive a thing in one direction or another, the demand will decide in the end if this thing, bitcoin is worth to be considered for the future or not, you can only hope and pray

but bears in mind that price of bitcoin is important, this determines how bitcoin is doing good or bad, it's the reflection of the success of bitcoin

bitcoin indeed is financial freedom. but the more mainstream bitcoin will be, the more governments will try to force their rules to the people who are using bitcoin.

Celebrities move a lot of people. If we were famous and had millions of tweeter followers, it would take a couple of days to make something go viral. Other than that yeah, we can't do nothing so we'll have to wait for it to naturally spread.

i agree, no whale or group of whales can stop and inevitable price rise if bitcoin becomes known and trusted by everybody around the whole world.
but to get there is the important part , when a lot of people still don't trust it because of all the FUD or even their own negligence .

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Exactly how is this related to any of this? This is not my website, nor do I have any relations to the gambling websites. There are hundreds of members who have similar signatures, there is nothing wrong with them.
It's always good to earn extra coins for doing nothing special.

A lot of people do not appreciate the freedom they have until they lose it, or when it's threatened. Everyone is saying, Bitcoin opens up the financial world for the 6 Billion unbanked people in the world, but do they really know what that means? We should appreciate the things we have now and support the people who do not have that. In my travels in Africa, I come in contact with a part of that 6 Billion people, and I can tell you that it's very sad to see people suffer or struggle like that. Let's spread this freedom to those people, and end the suffering.

It's nice to receive, but it's so much better when you give and it's appreciated. Micro transactions makes the giving so much easier. ^Big Grin^

i knew that someone would have replied in this way

but i want to bring an example, if bitcoin would be adopted today, with its current price, it would not be able to satisfy even a mere portion of the people all around the world

because big istitutions alone, can move plenty of money, so they will buy every bitcoin for themselves and leaves the other without nothing

bitcoin need to grow in price to accomodate a wide adoption, a massive usage...

I agree with you but right now most people see BTC only as investment.
We are still very far from the point where the bitcoin really becomes much more than just virtual currency or investment, as it is now.
Indeed I believe that bitcoin will one day become a true substitute for all world currencies, and it will help many people to become financially free, get rid from the banks etc. but still we have a lot of work to do until this happens.
Many people in Africa, for example, still do not have the basic conditions to be able to use bitcoin, electricity and Internet.

I don't see BTC as another investment option.

Bitcoin is financial freedom.....'if it gains mainstream adoption'.
At the moment there aren't enough places that accept bitcoin to be able to declare financial freedom. If you break down in the middle of nowhere & walk to a gas station are you going to pay with bitcoin for fuel? No!

I know what you mean by financial freedom though with regards to escaping 'the man'.

I personally see bitcoin as a long term investment, I HODL my stash & hope for a time when the price goes to the moon & for a better life, then I really will feel like I have financial freedom Wink

It is indeed a financial freedom for all who are using bitcoins. But the fact is, that we don't want government interference into it, or else we would loose our freedom. So I wish that it should be decentralised forever without any government intervention.

The average person sees no need to ever own a bitcoin or even learn what one is.

Personally I am tired of dealing with banks and other financial institutions. Too often they think that your money is theirs. Bitcoin allows the people to take the power back. We will only gain mass adoption when the majority realizes this.

Bitcoin is not perfect yet fit to the role as you mentioned. The price is still volatile, the average joe don't have the knowledge to control their bitcoin under safety. Ppl still have the negative image of it, such as black market, money laundery etc
