I need some luck to come over my miners! at least you got a little more than my u2's :0... jokes but does anyone know a probability calculator for soloing mining, obviously its a lot of luck involved but still Great hashes on average guys! Little update here. Best hash is 3,942,183 after resetting with a power outage. Still chugging along!

Congrats on mining a block their at 25 BTC not even a month into it and indeed smashed it. Its all about luck to be honest and hitting that magic number for producing a winning ticket. How do you have this set for solo mining as every time I have come to trying solo mining by setting up client it always rejects them or finding out that I have too much power going though. Is their any pools set for doing this kind of thing where can just point to some solo pool operation or will have to dig out 2nd pc make pool with it somehow?

Just point your hash to solo.ckpool.org. It can handle whatever you throw at it

Jonny's Pool - Mine with us and help us grow! Support a pool that supports Bitcoin, not a hardware manufacturer's pockets! No SPV cheats. No empty blocks.

Because I like to support Bitcoin, I run a full node and not that devaluing XT version either. FULL CORE from Bitcoin.org. I set it up on a Windows machine then in the data directory I have a text file named bitcoin.conf. Inside that file is this: rpcuser=bitcoinrpc rpcpassword=OMGlongPassHere minrelaytxfee=0.00000001 Then I start Bitcoin Server with this shortcut (right click on a shortcut to btc core, properties, then put this whole for the TARGET) "C:\Program Files\Bitcoin\bitcoin-qt.exe" -server -RPCALLOWIP=192.168.1.10 -RPCALLOWIP=192.168.1.11 -RPCALLOWIP=127.0.0.1 -RPCALLOWIP=192.168.1.12 -RPCPORT=4928 -checklevel=2 Of course if you have different IP addresses for your miner you'll need to change the RPCALLOWIP, and you'll need to change the RPCPORT if you use a different port. Finally allow incoming connections in your firewall (Go to Advanced in Windows firewall, or Allow Ports in most other firewall programs). That's it. Mine away I use CK's pool as a backup for those times when I lose power and need to reindex my core.

Thanks for the details as some of it I did miss out last time think my problem was accepting incoming connections. Just gone over to CK and going to look into it as just pointed to nicehash as found they do the same thing their and give details on submitted shares. Going to continue the adventure with you see if I can get something with 200GH less luck on hitting but who knows. Got be in it to win it

Another little update. With an early winter we're seeing a LOT more hashrate from the globe. Expect the difficulty to skyrocket this next time. Best share right now is 30,879,119. It ain't great, but he's still chuggin along! Don't forget, he's got the luck of the Irish!

did you add more miners? i have 3thz might consider to solo ? No, and I won't. This is a 1 year experiment with a single Antminer S3 to disprove the oft espoused theory that solo mining is dead.

It has been running since the first post, as of today that's 32 days. Off time averages about 30 minutes weekly. That includes all restarts, power outages, my fiddling with things out of boredom, and bumping the power supply plug accidentally from time to time and knocking the paperclip out of it.

Solo mining is dead, but even a dead horse get's lucky once in a while (isn't that how the saying goes?). That being said, with my electric rate all I can do all summer is solo mine and cross my fingers, so it will never be dead to me.

My difficulty is 54 billion because I mine against the Bitcoin Core to support the network. See my earlier post on how to set it up. When I mine against the backup pool, CK's pool, it's 1000. Setting your difficulty isn't necessary. It's done automatically from the software you're mining against. Don't get hung up on it. It's a non-issue.

You don't need to change any files. You just change the shortcut to add arguments (all those -RPCALLOW, etc lines) and add the bitcoin.conf file. You do have to download all the blocks before you can mine against it. That takes me about a week.
