India dominated the opening day of one-off test match against Afghanistan and finished the day with a strong position at 368/3 runs. Indian top order KL Rahul, Shubman Gill including Sai, showed excellent patience & self controlled, fully utilized the favorable batting friendly conditions. They built partnerships consistently and made difficult situation for the Afghan bowlers to gain momentum. For Afghanistan, overall it was a challenging session. Their bowlers tried different plans and gave best effort but struggled to break indian batsman bonding. Taking only three wickets in an entire day indicates that they will need to give extra effort and hard work on Day 2 to stop India from gaining a massive first innings total. Currently, India has possibility to reach 500-600 runs, the pressure on Afghanistan will be enormous. Although Afghanistan also blessed with some quality batsmen but they must produce one of their best performances to stay competitive. Based on the current situation, India looks clear favourites to win this match.
Actually, we all know that India will dominate here. Even at the last, I had accepted that India would go beyond 600 runs, but they ended their innings at 564 runs.
I don't think that the Afghanistan team will be able to score 564 runs in this Test match in their two innings.
Basically, India is a strong team here and on the other hand, Afghanistan is an underdog team. So it is normal that the performance of the Afghanistan team will be bad here.
Currently, the Afghanistan team has managed to score 111 runs for the loss of four wickets. I think they will be all out before scoring 250 runs.
