how to accept payment with bitcoin

i'm not sure what you exactly want but you can use bitpay, apply for their merchant and generate api key and use it with the payment plugin

If you want your shop to have automated payment system you can use bitpay or coinbase
Or maybe use old-styled manual payment system where you check your customers payment in your wallet (a bit hassle)

Would also suggest Bitpay and would probably recommend it more than bitpay . I also heard that bitpay doesn't sell the bitcoins immediately so that is an advantage it has over Coinbase.

Yes bitpay and coinbase are the leaders. What I think you want is a "payment processor".

You can also use GoUrl Bitcoin Payment Gateway for Wordpress, if you use WP.

There is a plugin if you know how to code in PHP available on this forum. Try searching on Google. I have not yet tested it in any of my projects.

I think, bitcoin gets converted to FIAT using BitPay. If one wants to accept bitcoin as it is, then will BitPay work ?

Yes you can choose which percentage get's converted or you can leave it 100% at bitcoin
