This is the type of fan I'm using: http://img.techpowerup.org/100430/HPIM0569.jpg

It no longer spins (x2) so I need to buy a couple new ones or some kind of solution. Will buy as long as I can't Google search a lower price.

Have you tried re-lubing it? Drill a tiny hole (smallest drill bit you can find) on the face of the fan about 2-3 mm offcenter just deep enough to make a hole to the inside of the fan (any deeper and you will probably wreck it. BE GENTLE). Put some 3-in-1 oil on the hole, about 5-8 drops, clean off the excess as best as you can, and seal it with a square of electrical tape. Fan should spin like new.

Other than that, your best, and cheapest bet, is fleabay. Buying new heatsinks for those cards will probably cost more than the card itself. You can also try RMA but you won't get a 5870 back. You will likely get a low-end 7000 series like a 7850 or 7770. I heard XFX was sending 7870's for 5970's.

Takes all of 5 minutes to drill the hole, insert oil, wipe it clean, and slap a square of electrical tape on it. If 5 minutes of work is worth $75 to you, then go ahead and buy a new accelero heatsink. I'm trying to save you money, but whatever, it's your money.

I have one of the XFX 5870 fan assy.

It's an odd ball as they sent me a few extras but now I have no 5870's left so it's just been sitting.

let me know if you want it

hmm check the size of a 80mm fan or the 120mm fan, IIRC someone was using one of those 2 fans to blow air thru the 5870 when his fan actually broke apart. Might have to zip tie the fan in place but it might work and keep card cool enough to mine with it a little more. Adapt and overcome!!!

another option is I have used a reference fan on this type of heatsink... they are easier to find. The only problem is you will probably have to lengthen the power wire
