Hey all. I'm getting back into mining and havent been up to date with any hardware in a while. When I mined Asic Blades were 500$ mining at 10gh/s  Cheesy Cheesy. Now hardware is a lot cheaper for faster equipment, clearly due to the difficulty. I have no knowledge on the new hardware since I've been out of it for a while.

I bought a Rockminer T1 for pretty cheap. It doesnt come with the ethernet controller. I am planning to run 2 Antminer S3 with raspberry pi so I'm wondering if I can do the same with the Rockminer. Im planning on getting more Rockminers eventually because of their server like chassis but I dont want to get the ethernet controller until then. Am I able to use the Raspberry Pi or a PC? Thanks for any and all help!

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I know zero about the T1, but I am 99% sure that the Anminer S3 doesn't require, nor can it use, a Raspberry Pi. The Antminer S3 is a completely standalone miner. It does need a power supply, but not a computer to tun the mining software.

Rockminer T1 will work with a recent version of cgminer, just build the latest and you should be fine.

The AntMiner S3 is a standalone unit, so no need for a Rasperberry PI, also the Rockminer T1 should work if using the latest cgminer.

this is accurate.

@ op  you can use a switch like this

http://www.amazon.com/TRENDnet-Unmanaged-Gigabit-GREENnet-TEG-S50g/dp/B001QUA6R0/ref=sr_1_3?

plug the rasp pi into it.

plug your s-3's into it.

plug it into your router.

this can do 3 s-'3s and 1 rasp pi.
or get an 8 port switch like this one.

http://www.amazon.com/TRENDnet-Unmanaged-Gigabit-GREENnet-TEG-S50g/dp/B001QUA6R0/ref=sr_1_3?

this can do up to 7 s-3's or 7 rasp pi's or any combo of both

if you are in the USA I can mail one to you  just pay the postage it fits in a small flat rate box.  so like 6 bucks and I will send one to you.
