Hey all, I started this poll in the Bitcoin forum room, it's about gathering data on bitcoin wealth by region.

I think this would be really interesting data to collect. Others feel the same way. The best part to make this data collection most valuable is to get as much participation as possible. I know many people only follow certain forum rooms so it's quite possible that many of you don't frequent the Bitcoin forum room, hence my invitation to participate in the poll.

Give it some thought. Follow the link. Take 20 seconds to complete the poll.

I'd be grateful for your participation. Thank you.

I already remember voting on this a while ago, but take into consideration tons of people here don't understand a word of english and might not vote. You should translate your thread in every language possible for a more accurate result.

Haha, not sure if that's a joke or not, but if you're able to translate the contents of the poll please share it with me and I'll post it in the language specific forums.

55 people have responded to the poll and there are thousands of people on this forum. It would be REALLY fantastic if we could get some high numbers on this thing, that's the only reason I'm sharing the link on a few different sub-forums that I tend to hang out in.

Seriously, share with me some translations and I'll post them. Thanks.

Voted. I don't get it why polls of this type doesn't get that much support. Also I don't think that you'll really get an honest answer from the users of this forum. Most of the users nowadays doesn't even read a single post in a thread and just go straight commenting and/or voting on a poll.

Thanks for your vote! Share the link to the poll with others.

Why don't you think people here would respond honestly? What incentive do they have to lie about how much coin they have? There's no link to the vote and the name. I'm sure a few will lie because some people are liars, but most will play it straight.

And I agree that a lot of people don't read a post but just reply with the first thought that comes to mind. But voting on a poll is really easy and that is the reply function, no one cares about the comments in a poll, they care about the poll itself. This is why I'm trying to get more people to respond so we can actually get a good representative sample of the population.

We have 57 votes right now, it's a good start but certainly not ideal. Spread the word, here's the link -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1133078.0

TL:DR - if you voted for "UK & Europe" in this poll, and live in the UK, please vote again for "UK - specific" categories!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1133078.0

There's been several smart comments, requests about breaking out the UK and Europe. I've decided to make that edit to see if we can get more accurate data (I realize how that sounds as I manipulate the choices midway through an open poll), and to this I'll need your help with the following:
  • If you've voted for UK & Europe, you can now change your vote
  • If you know of anyone else who voted for UK & Europe, please ask them to change their vote

You'll find the new UK-specific choices at the bottom of the poll and I've tracked the UK & Europe totals (at this point in time) so we'll have a record of what was and how it changes going forward.

Voting levels as of 31 July, 2015 - before the breakout of UK & Europe:
</= 1 : UK & Europe   - 11 (8.7%)
10 > 1 : UK & Europe   - 18 (14.3%)
50 > 10 : UK & Europe   - 16 (12.7%)
> 50 : UK & Europe   - 18 (14.3%)

Any questions?

Thanks!
