Just looking to find out if many people here buy and collect physical gold? and if so, which would you prefer to hold, gold or bitcoin?

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Mighty fine collection you have there! how long have you been collecting gold?

About 1 1/2 years now.

Was buying what I liked the look of, e.g old panda's etc, a couple of 100g bars but now have shifted strategy and strictly buying CGT free coins like sovs and Britannias for quick liquidation when the time comes.

Nice to see those lovely gold, markj113
I'm also buy some gold (my future investment) but my parent decide to keep me away from it ( mostly keep on the safety box at the bank)
My parent said that gold is very great investment. But soon bitcoin also can be like gold ( stable price and being interest by many people )

Well thats a little concerning considering you run a bullion shop and are unaware of how CGT rules apply to UK legal tender coins.

Uk legal tender coins such as Britannias, sovereigns and the UK lunar series are VAT and CGT free.  With other bullion products if you exceed your annual gains limit then CGT must be paid on the profit when sold.

If you are selling bullion I also suggest you read up on the £5k / £10k limits too or otherwise your ass will end up in jail for assisting money laundering.

Yeah I personally do not deal with the legal side of the business.

I buy gold for long term investment purpose because it safe and sure it will appreciate if your long term player. Bitcoin is just for short term gains with small potion of investment.

I have zero interest in gold for anything other than aesthetic reasons. I might buy a coin if it was pretty and had the spare money but it doesn't excite me for investment purposes.

BTC is good, and gold is just as good in many ways. Silver is on the up and up also! Get old coins with even some silver in them have value. For example, I believe US coins pre 1970's or something.

better buy some farmland then gold. Gold doesn't produce anything when you buy it; It just sits there.
Farmland if you work on it it produces something. You can sell i tand repeat.

no, not interested in anything that is collectible, the less stuff you have the better(if one day you need to move from your house it would be troublesome to bring with you something heavy in weight), today you only need you computer to be good

and this is the reason why i love bitcoin, because it is digital only

Yes I do own some gold, but now it's not the time to buy it. Gold's value is declining and it will continue declining in the near future.

On ghe other side I am trying to get as many bitcoins as I can since I think bitcoin value will go just up in the near future.

I prefer to hold gold (for now) because as the bitcoin prices are leveling down so gold is better. If again bitcoin prices raised then the leader is bitcoin compare to gold.
