This morning, CNBC reported the Mike Tyson Bitcoin ATMs and the anchors mocked it and said how is Bitcoin still relevant when it's just a scam and ponzi scheme. They said this Mike Tyson deal was obviously a scam to get more people to waste money in Bitcoin. They kept referring to "bitcoin" as if it was one entity and why would "they" invest in Mike Tyson as a spokesperson. It was so laughable. And these anchors are suppose to help us with investment decisions?

These people are mannequins whose only skill is coherent autocue reading. If people base investment decisions on what the TV stiffs are told to say then more fool them. This makes for a relevant little watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95-yZ-31j9A

Internet early 90s - a haven of hackers, terrorism, crime and porn. Never catch on. Flash in the pan. A curio. There's no call for it. Bitcoin early 2010s - see above. I wonder what we'll make of past crypto media coverage 15 or more years from now and how many people will look like utter dicks. Could be us, more likely it's Them.

They are paid to do whatever pleases the TV station... probably their bosses want them to diss on Bitcoin. They obviously don't even bother to search about it also... These people are mannequins whose only skill is coherent autocue reading. If people base investment decisions on what the TV stiffs are told to say then more fool them. This makes for a relevant little watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95-yZ-31j9ARelevant video indeed... Will we see such a thing in a few years about Bitcoin?

I like to watch CNBC so I know what mainstream economists and investors think, I make it a point to do the opposite of everything they say, unless they have some actual facts backing their comments of course, so when these guys finally admit that Bitcoin is a good idea and you should buy it, start selling, because these idiots are going to be the last ones in buying it up at a premium.

Maybe it's easy to think that in retrospect, but even then it's hard to believe people didn't take it seriously in its infancy. Even when it was horrible to look at and creaky to navigate having all that info at your fingertips any time you want plus instant and free messaging seems like a no brainer.

The people that get hired to read cue only have one talent: Reading cue and usually looking good and being "charismatic". Those guys are parrots of the status quo and have no idea about anything that requires actual brain mass.

Nobody is making decisions based on the talking heads there. They literally have segments where people just shout at one another trying to drive retail investors into random stocks

It's not about figuring out what bitcoin is. It's about not recognizing its value. Not that long ago, when I go shopping, I always isles and isles of useless items. Scarfs, ugly handbags, ugly clothes, weird tools... etc etc etc. I would not take those items if they were free, even if you gave me money I'd only be disposing of that garbage for you. I can see the items, I know they're there, but I wondered, who in the world would buy them? I thought they were absolutely valueless. But they weren't. Even if I may not like them, even if I may never use them, they are valuable to some people. It's the same thing with bitcoin. People can understand what it is but not see its value.

I can see the potential reason for their confusion, they were talking to a guy from Bitcoin Brands, which is some bitcoin related company, and could have mis-understood that Bitcoin Brands is not an entity that created Bitcoin.
Step away from all that you know about bitcoin for a moment and try to think what someone who's never heard of it would think if you said "some guy created a new form of currency, and you can convert your fiat for it, and spend it places." It would be easy for that someone to assume that the guy did this through his business or a corporation, after all why do most people go into anything related to business, investing, or currency? To make money. Obviously Satoshi's objectives were a lot more lofty than generating some revenue, but rather he wanted to change the world.
Perhaps the real tragedy is that more people don't believe that anyone can have an idea that can change the world...the immediate skepticism drives me crazy.
