But compassion, noblest of all wisdoms, is another quest altogether. All too often compassion is the path of greatest resistance. All too often compassion demands great and terrible sacrifice. So it should come as no surprise that we are few who dare to walk this path earnestly and without fear. Nevertheless, history has shown us again and again that time is on our side.
