That is a very interesting way to try to scam.

I am not sure why anyone would be dumb enough to trade outside of LBC escrow when responding to an LBC advertisement. Probably greed.

He wants you to send him fiat/bitcoin outside of escrow, and as a result there would be nothing to compel him to hold up his side of the agreement. When LBC escrow is used (or when a trusted escrow is used), there is someone who is protecting the bitcoin until the fiat is successfully transferred to the party selling the bitcoin.

It may sometimes be prudent to complete a trade outside of escrow (for example if one of the parties is highly trusted), although this is clearly not the case in this situation.
