Ive had 3 of them for under a week and for some reason, after restarting them (unplugging and plugging back in) only one started and took a bit longer than i took when i first installed it, the other 2 only turned on the psu fan. What should I do? Might it be a couple of defective units? I just checked the voltage and everything seems to be alright.

To have 2 out of 3 defective is a lot. Did you get them from Bitmain? Or somewhere else? Also are you using 110 or 220/240 electricity? This is very important to know.

I would open up and make sure everything is snug on wires. Normally shipment is not hard on them, but if it was something might have came unplugged. If that does not work go over to the official support: https://bitmain.zendesk.com/hc/en-usMake sure to start a ticket as they are in warranty right now.

Hi
We are sorry to hear that you are having problems.
If the little fan comes on and you can see/hear high pitch, the fan is powered on but the miner will not come power on, there are 3 possibilities we can think of.
1. PSU is dead
2. Intake voltage for your PSU is below 205V. (Could be 208 line but may be you are not getting the full 208)
3. When PSU gets hot or sense some errors, it goes into the self-protection mode to avoid from damaging itself. In this case, please power off the S4+ and unplug the power cord from the S4 and let it sit for 5-10 minutes, and please power it back on.

This morning I restarted them and they started nicely but this afternoon I had to turn them off for a couple of minutes and they havent turned on in like 4 hours, Ive unplugged them and waited for 10 minutes or more before powering them on again, and nothing... I have switched cables with other devices (S5´s running at 220) and I keep having the same issue. Is there any other way to know if the PSU is dead? I bought them from Bitmain on July 10th.

So they both (or all 3) were hashing this morning? And then again 2 of them died? I wonder if you are having trouble with network. Were you able to log into them? You haven't told us what your settings are when they do work. Dhcp or static ip,are they connected through switch and so on. Reset router and/or switch.Maybe conflict with ip.

Hi pinhead, sorry! Ok This morning I could get them 3 to work normally after having 2 dead, this morning i just restarted them and voila... They were working DHCP and have been connected to a switch. No I cant access through their ip since it shows as if they were disconnected. I cant get them to fully turn on even by disconnecting them from the network or even holding the hard reset button.

this sounds like a hot psu issue. once turned off for more then a few hours they power up.
you need to show us screen shots of the gui's so we can compare the temps.

I just opened one of them and the psu feels rather cold, its been turned off for hours now I also have a couple of S5s and they are running at 43-45ºC, the s4+s worked under 70ºC for like 90% of the time

The S4+ PSU won't work under 205V, so try it again on your 240v circuit.

I just rechecked it from wall and shows 110.7 and 117.8 volts Read the second post again: Ive had 3 of them for under a week and for some reason, after restarting them (unplugging and plugging back in) only one started and took a bit longer than i took when i first installed it, the other 2 only turned on the psu fan. Yes you got lucky and one psu happens to work with the 110, but it was not designed for it at all. Once you get the proper power they will run fine.
