The "secret method" is to transfer the money to another "physical card" or egift or account or whatever or by bringing the "e-gift codes" or your "less than legit" cards to Starbucks.  But that doesn't work because Starbucks can (and does) track the transfers and even the physical card (or where ever you transfer it to) still gets shut down. If the new card stays good so will have the original card.
