Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

It would probably be a better idea to use escrow, that way you are both equally protected.

I am also not sure why you think that people would be willing to accept such low prices when they can just sell it on an exchange

I have no problem operating within escrow until this account is trusted. Do you have any suggestions as far as which services are preferable?

lol, sorry but no one would be willing to sell you bitcoin for -10% market price, especially when you are looking for a long term partnership.  If you are looking for a trader, YOU should be the person paying a premium, not them.

here is a list of escrow providers on the forum, and such list does include myself.

It would probably be difficult to use cash in the mail with escrow, however a cash deposit should be relatively straight forward to use escrow with, as would other payment methods like walmart-2-walmart and western union

I am a trader, trading USD for BTC, am I not? I've adjusted the rate, though I still do require a small premium.

I do pay 1:1 bitstamp. No problem with that. But I do not pay WU fees, which in this case amount to ~2% of the value that would be sent (2.2 btc is $590.04 at the current price of $268.2/btc; WU fee is $12.50). Every other seller is buying with WU at least 2% UNDER last price AND requires you to pay the fees. I have the most fair rate on this site, currently, and I'd love to do business with you. But I cannot currently exist as a trader if I'm paying WU fees. Sorry.

Was honestly expecting another time waster (there has been so many this week) but nope, just completed a trade with OP. Bought 3.497 BTC (https://blockchain.info/tx/5958f65f32243965f753bd977a399a1cb290dced3cc279dd11074213a5f656cf) and deal was done within minutes.
